Mother, father, cousin, brother, friend,
this is who I am meant to be.
I am who I am, you cannot change that.
I may be different or strange,
but in our world, I have grown up,
learning it was okay, yet you still shun it,
in teenagers such as what I am.
Mother, "too young" you say,
"too many horomones, to know either way."
Father, who knows what you say,
never telling me how you feel.
Cousin, you are accepting,
Brother, you are too.
Yet jokes you both make, about everything,
Everything I am, and everything I stand for.
Friend, you speak of equality and rights,
yet are the rights the same, if the practice cannot be?
I have told many, yet I am still shunned,
by those who think they're better,
because they think I sin.
"But what is wrong with me?" I ask,
why is this such a sin?
People say it is a choice,
But they have never been,
they could never know, these things I feel.
No one can choose who they like,
none can choose what attracts them.
So what if I am not attracted only by men?
So what if I like women too?
